So, as promised here is what I purchased in the sales, the day after boxing day. The items are mainly from Next although I'm hoping to go shopping in my actual town/high street soon (Next isn't on the high street in my city)

Belated: Lincoln Christmas Market.

 Merry Christmas xx
First of all I'd like to say, Merry Christmas! Also apologies for my last 3 posts being from Polyvore. I was going to do a post about what I'd purchased in the sale today, however I will do that later in the week as I realised I never blogged about Lincoln Christmas Market.

Update | New Layout, 100th Post and Future!

You may or may not have noticed the new layout! I'm still not completely happy with it (I don't think I ever will be haha) but as it's the season to be jolly and more important glittery, I thought I'd add a touch of glitter to my blog!

In other news, I just realised that my recent (and crappy) blogpost about Marc Jacobs perfume was actually my 100th post! So happy 100th post to me! :)

didn't know what picture to put here so I thought I'd add a recent instagram picture
  Posts I'm planning on doing:
Christmas gift ideas - guys and girls
Christmas Card making!
Red lipstick - tips, review: market vs high street vs high end
lots of Christmas wishlists and OOTD

Marc Jacobs quick review: Daisy and Dot

I wanted to do a quick post on Marc Jacobs perfume. I'm no expert and I've only ever owned Daisy by Marc Jacobs, however I recently discovered his new fragrance "Dot" and it is perfect.

These are the bottles for Daisy by Marc Jacobs that I have owned, however I know there are more variations out there and according to the lady in House of Frasier there's a new one every year. I first received this perfume a few Christmases ago and although it is no use me describing the smell, it is very fresh and floral however with a hint of "grown up".

The bottles for any Marc Jacobs perfume are always so cute and classy, and that is what drew my attention to new (I think) fragrance Dot! A bonus is the scent is lovely too, I think I even prefer it to Daisy (shh don't tell her).

The price range for Dot ranges from £37 - £63 and I think they only do it it Eau de Parfum (which is the only way in my opinion).

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm hoping one day to do a more informed and wider ranging perfume post to make up for this uninformative one. This post was mainly just because I was so excited about the packaging and the smell being divine!

Lovely in Latex?

So recently whilst browsing the world of internet shopping I've become more and more intrigued by latex and PVC. I know that I would never be able to pull it off but it doesn't stop me from dreaming! Here are a few of my favourites from the few websites I found!

Velvet, fur and glitter - is it winter yet?

So I thought I would do a mini haul about recent purchases seeing as it's ages since I've done one! (also testing the "Schedule" thing on here as I am actually at work rn, I wrote this this morning mwahahah)

This Saturday was the first one I've had off for a while so I thought I'd spend my evening doing some online shopping!

Black Velvet Skater Dress - £12.99 - New Look
Originally (a week or so ago) I was planning on purchasing this dress because it's so simple but also very pretty and winter-y - however when I came to buy it the next day it had vanished and I later found out it was sold out - which absolutely sucks.

Black Velvet/Mesh Skater Dress - £6.00 (on sale) - New Look
However, whilst browsing the New Look website (again) last night I discovered this beauty! and to make it better it was one SALE! - I actually ordered 2, 1 in my size and 1 in the size bigger because it's velvet and that can be temperamental for curvy ladies! (Obviously I will return the one that doesn't fit)

Black Faux Fur Coat - £49.99 - New Look
I have been wanting a new fur coat for ages now and I always looked at the animal print ones rather than the plain ones but I saw this last night and it took me a good few hours to make a decision and swallow my thriftiness. I think £50 isn't actually that bad for a coat, especially one as gorgeous as this.

Silver Studded Loafers - £24.99 - TK Maxx
If you follow me on twitter or instagram you may have already seen these but I really wanted to put them in this post because they are so sparkly and winter-y! I was actually looking for some new boots when I saw the size 10 version of these and instantly fell in love at the same time as realising they were 2x my size! I then carried on round the isles and found the same pair - IN MY SIZE - it was meant to be?

--------
Is anyone else excited for all things sparkly and glamorous this winter? xxx

Life | Hull University!

So yesterday I went to the University of Hull open day and I absolutely loved it!

If you didn't know already, I am hoping to do a History degree and then after going into teaching or journalism.
The University has 2 courses which I would love to do; History (as a single Honor's) and History with Social History. I really love the fact they offer so much choice and flexibility and have such a diverse range of topics - which is important for me as I don't feel I can decide on one specific era or period of time.

Another thing is that they also have a good reputation for languages. I am hoping, wherever I end up studying, to carry on learning German and maybe re-learn French or even pick up a new language.

I also loved that the grades they require from you are achievable (most of the History courses I looked at were AAA or AAB - which is just not going to happen) and also that they look at you as a person and not just the 3 letters you produce.

So fingers crossed eh?

Are any of you applying to University this year? Any tips from those who have been through the application process and survived?

New Look Shoes!

Today's post is about shoes! It's strange because I have never been a major fan of shoes but this year - with the help of Lizzy - I have fell more and more in love. I want all of them.
New Look is always a good place for shoes so I thought I would take a break from my history work to look at there website and here are my favourites!
1. Iron Fist Love Satin Tattoo Rose Shoes - £42.99 now £22.99
These are just perfect but unfortunately they do not have my size on the website. But just look at them!
2. Leopard Print Lace Up Brogue Creepers - £19.99

3. Blink Tapestry Slipper Shoes - £39.99
These are so different, I just think they're amazing even though I probably wouldn't have anything to go with them.

4. Rocket Dog Red Lift Off Velvet Wedges - £54.99
I'm really 'into' velvet/flock at the moment so yeah these are gorgeous and would go with quite a few of my outfits.

5. Shellys Beatnik Fruit Loafers - £56.99 now £34.00
If you are a follower of my blog/instagram/twitter/tumblr etc, you'll definitely know that I love anything fruity! I am not so keen on the beige/nude, but a fruity loafer? Who'd have thunk it?!

6. Steve Madden Leopard Print Pammy Wedges - £84.99
Well, they're leopard print so, pretty self explanatory.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What's your favourite place for shoes? I also like matalan as I think you can get the same or better quality as the high street at better price!

HALLOWEEN!

I'm increasingly more and more inspired by autumn and Halloween! Dark lips, dark clothes, fur (faux of course), lace, velvet, deep reds, purples - the list goes on!

I said in a previous post that I would do some Halloween style makeup tutorials/how tos - but it's just finding the time (and a day that I don't have to leave the house at all!). However I am still planning on doing at least 1! :)

In the meantime I thought I'd leave you with a little taster of my new favorite lip colour;

Yes, it's still a red colour - well what were you expecting really? :)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay so who else is over excited for halloween?

Halloween?

It's been a while again, I know. My laptop is currently in an unknown land getting repaired and I have been so busy with going back to sixth form I haven't had the time, or even felt like blogging.

Originally I planned today to start doing mini tutorials for halloween makeup. However I decided against it, seeing as it is only the 14th of Septemer! I am, however, hopefully going to do that during next month. So if you have any ideas please comment below?

This is a photo of Lizzy and I last halloween. I'm hoping that with my slightly improved makeup skills and slightly improved makeup collection, that this year my makeup with be slightly better!

Alternative and retro jewellery haul

This is my last installment of my recent purchases and as you can see from the title it's a jewellery haul!
Word Rings - eBay store - £1.29 each
I have seen the Karma around online and thought it was a really cute idea and it would be a ring that you can wear on any occasion with any outfit. I found
Skull and Cross necklace - Simply Emily - £3.99
Everyon should check out Simply Emily Boutique, she has some lovely things and I even got a hand written note with my purchase which I thought was cute!

Skull Earrings - Topshop - £2.50 on sale

Ankh Cross Earrings - Topshop - £2.50 on sale
Hula/Tiki Lady Earrings - Claire's Accessories - £1 on sale
I love how tacky these are!

Retro inspired + vintage dress haul

I said in my last post that I would do a dress "haul". These are the dresses I have bought over the past 2 months.

Black Flamingo Print Dress - £10 - Primark

I actually saw this first on tumblr as a girl that I follow bought it! I have one similar from last year where the flamingos are different and more brightly coloured. I also like this for the elasticated waist!

Vintage Dress - £15 on sale - Ego
This is definately my favourite out of the 3. I bought this on sale in a little vintage shop in Lincoln called Ego. I'm not entirely sure if this is actually vintage becauae the shop also sells new clothes, however the buttons on the back did need a little mending which makes me think it is second hand. I really do adore this as its floaty and flatering and unusual.

Black Dress - £9 on sale - New Look
I also got this one on sale and this is the dress I spoke about in my last post saying that it would go with these shoes nicely.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Is it just me who has an addiction to buying dresses?

Nottingham shopping!

I have accumulated quite a few new things during my absence from blogging so I decided to do them in 3 seperate blog posts: Nottingham (my most recent shopping trip with my best friend) Dresses and Jewellery.

As the title suggests today's post is about Nottingham!

Black Suede Wedge Boot - £16 - Select
I bought these primarily to go with a certain dress that I have bough recently, but you'll have to wait for a few days until I post about that ;)

Black and White Skull Cardigan - Magenta - £10

Yellow "Cat Eye" Sunglasses - £1 - Primark
I am planning on copying Lizzy's idea and painting them black or maybe red depending on how I feel. Mwahaha.

Pro Longwear Foundation - MAC - £24
I bought this first and that's the reason I didn't spend oodles on clothes haha. :)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Whilst in Nottingham, I took the oppurtunity to try on the American Apparel Disco Pants that I have featured in my two most recent "wishlists". I was actually supprised they fitted me, especially in the sweaty hot humid changing room! I am planning on buying them online when I get paid, in time for my birthday :)

Birthday Wish(ful thinking) List!

It's my birthday soon so I thought I'd make a wish list. Mainly these are things that I am planning on buying myself when I next get paid as a "treat" because I wouldn't expect anyone to actually spend this amount of money on me :)

 1. Blonde Human Hair Extensions - eBay - price varies (I'm going to dye them of course)
2. VIXON Flatform Creepers - ASOS - £35
3. Disco Pants - American Apparel - £70
4. MAC lipstick in Diva - £13.50

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am busy the next few days but I am planning on doing a red lipstick review/comparison with a drugstore, high end and also one from my local market.

Also I'm going shopping in Nottingham with Lizzy on Friday which is oh so exciting!

DIY | Jewellery(or something else) Box

So as you may know I am in the midst of decorating my bedroom. I'm no DIY queen, but I do enjoy the odd bit here and there. So here is a very picture heavy tutorial for how I make cute, unique boxes for my room.

You will need: an old cardboard box, I used a shoe box, glue, tape and scissors, things to decorate your box with: I am using the left over wallpaper from my room but I have used wrapping paper before, and I am also going to use tissue paper. You can use anything you want really!

1. First work out how much paper you will need, it's a bit like wrapping a present!

2. Then start securing the paper with tape around the box. I would advise to only use tape on the inside of the box because it gives a nicer finish, if necessary you can always use the glue to help it stick to the box (I had to because of the thick wallpaper I was using).
TIP: try and push the paper right into the corners (picture 3) especially if you are planning to put a lid on the box!

3. Continue fixing the paper to the box, the paper should theoretically fall into place the further you get.

TIP: If, however the paper does not "fall into place" and there are some odds and ends, you can always snip it into place (as shown below with my awk hand)

4. Finally, add the tissue paper. I glued around the edges of where the paper finished and "pushed" the tissue paper into the box. I also added more tissue paper over the top of the first piece after.

5. Your box is now complete! You can also decorate the corresponding lid to match the box like I did, or you can leave it open of course!

I am planning on storing the necklaces I rarely wear in hear and maybe some other jewellery. I am really pleased it matches my wall paper exactly and it virtually cost me nothing!

-----------------------------------------------------
Hope you enjoyed my first ever DIY post, if I do any more little bits for my new room I am planning on putting them on here too!

Glossy Box | June

Woo Glossy Box!
This month's Glossy Box was the most exciting one yet for me! For a start I totally lost track of the days and wasn't expecting one to be on my doorstep when I got in, tired, from sixth form.

This month I received:
Glossy Box Serie Exclusiv Pro Beauty Brush
Yves Rocher France Mini Mascara ultra volume Sexy Pulp
BM Beauty Summer Warmth Bronzer
Clean Start By Dermalogica Day/Night 3 Step Kit
Vichy Dermablend Ultra Corrective Foundation Cream Stick
BM Beauty Summer Warmth Bronzer
My first ever Glossy Box featured the BM Beauty Mineral Eyeshadow and I loved it,  so when I saw another BM Beauty product I was instantly happy! I've been wearing this a lot since I got it so be expecting a review or it to feature in a monthly favourites post!
Yves Rocher Mini Mascara
The brush seems bigger than the "bottle"
So excited that they included another makeup product. I haven't tried this out much but I have high hopes!
Glossy Box Beauty Brush
I love the fact that Glossy Box are starting to include there own brand of things, last month it was the mirror and this month its a brush WHATS NEXT?

Clean Start Day/Night 3 Step Kit

Initially I was excited for this 3 products for 1! But because my skin is so bloody sensitive this kit unfortunately irritated my skin. It didn't sting or anything but my KP was a lot more red than usual after just 5 minutes or so. Hopefully my mum will be able to make use of this kit though as she has oily-combination skin.

Vichy Dermablend Ultra-Corrective Foundation
Last but defiantly not least is the Vichy Dermablend Foundation! I have been contemplating trying this brand. As you may know, because I go on about it in most posts, I have a very red complexion so could this foundation be my saviour? I am waiting for the right time to try it out, hopefully one day this week.

----------------------------------------------
Sorry for this loooonggg post but I was so excited! If you got a Glossy Box this month, what did you get? Have you tried any of these products/brands? :)
